Everlasting

Walking on the sand by the bay,
Has left me with nothing to say
Looking towards the horizon
At sunsets that have come and gone
With every trip that I fulfill,
Time seems to stay at a standstill

Spring, a time where hopes are renewed
Roses bloom, ready to be viewed
Each petal kissed by the sun’s rays
Sights that’ll last till the end of days
With every small step that I take,
Clocks everywhere will quickly break

On the mountaintop, things are clear
Snow white peaks of a lost frontier
Such silence, such serenity
Simply translated as beauty
With each step, the higher I climb
Another myth will be formed, time

Far beyond our reach it lies in the sky
Daring some to touch it, to fly
The moon, a light in such dark times
Creating hope, smiles, laughs, and dreams
Each time I gaze at its splendor,
Ticks and tocks seem to surrender

Then a moment comes into view,
Along with glee of every hue
Where you walk to me in a dress
As I smile without any regrets
With each step you take towards me,
Time finally kneels to beauty

The Connection

As my eyes stare at the bright screen,
I see it more as a machine
A chance to fulfill my wishes
For making each day momentous

When I see the pictures you post,
I unearth a reason to boast
Be it solo, with friends, family
Cause I see your face so clearly

Mere photos of you drive my days
I start grinning cause of your smiles
And your laugh tickles me inside
What else can I do but abide?

Refreshing the page frequently,
Waiting for your posts eagerly
Never missing one, day or night,
Just to be certain you’re alright

When we chat on for countless hours
Or when your comments flood posts,
I can not help but be smirking
Cause it’s like we’re almost talking

I signed out and lay on my bed
Dreaming of something new instead
The time I can have all these
While seeing your real face with ease

An Answered Prayer

Throughout the journey of mankind
An ancient story one will find
With simple, almost peasant, words
Yet in royal shelves it resides

In a small shack on its last breath,
Lives a craftsman who is near death
Abandoned by his own nation
Alone with his priced creation

A delicate paper lantern
Takes him little time to discern
With no shame his mouth will utter,
“Its beauty will last forever!”

From bamboo stalks its frame arose
That dance with wind in stunning shows
With grace that’s immeasurable,
Yet it’s sturdy, flexible

Every character and picture,
Does nothing to souls but allure
Brushstrokes wail with such potency
Nothing but our history

Tied to its frame is a prayer
That would make life a bit brighter
To be raised to the vast heavens,
While a nation waits for answers

Sadly the craftsman sulks and weeps,
For it’s time to cast the lanterns
Towards the limitless ceiling
To fully reach their life calling

After a few days have gone,
The lantern falls on a green lawn
On the tomb of its creator
To be with him forevermore

Stargazing

After closing another uneventful day
Overfilled with every possible shade of gray
I decided to gaze out my bedroom window
And greet the night sky to be rid of my sorrow

The night sky, its beauty and blackness undisturbed
hen suddenly, a shimmering white light emerged
Of a beautiful and radiant twinkling star
For me, the most beautiful I have seen by far

Its beauty is completely unexplainable
Strangely simple yet unattainable
No plain man can grasp it using a mighty roar
For its actual beauty lies in its core

As a precious treasure of every girl and boy
It bestows the world with countless amounts of joy
From playing, singing harmonious tunes and songs
To making our days with just truly humble smiles

Something about its nature’s truly mysterious
It lives among the white clouds and clear heavens
And I, bounded and shackled by Earth's mighty grip,
Yet it grants me its genuine bond of friendship

A life without it, I can't truly imagine
It would be just another life not worth livin'
I would be a small ship, lost in an endless sea
Or a majestic eagle, denied to be free

When overfilled, with a river of joy and glee
I would be the happiest person I could be
When overcame and consumed by great pain and sorrow
I would crouch and weep like there is no tomorrow

Despite the star's overwhelming radiance,beauty
It is engulfed by the bustling urban city
Light and smoke, trap it in a suffocating ball,
Yet its dazzling light always shines through it all

Unfortunately, the star would soon be hidden,
For the blazing sun is about to be risen
I am not worried because nothing will be new
Because I have found a little stardust in you!
